Thanks for the review and doing all the tests, Steve! At least it wasn't another Ecoflow Delta Pro 3 that all the prepper channels suddenly shilled all at once in an advertising blitz.
You're welcome. SO far I've been happy with allpowers. I've been using their gear for almost 2 years now without issue.
Whaaw, heavy lifting ;-) In Europe it is 999 euro for the R2500 without solar panel. Great viedeo Steve. 73 Phil ON4VP
Great value with AllPowers! You threw that 50# around like it was a bag of marshmallows.
I've been working out!
Top notch review! Been looking for something like this to run AC. This would make my wife a happy camper. Great video quality too, goodness, that's Hollywood quality son. New camera? Or just me
now you testing like a true HAM ! My girlfriend would have no trouble setting all that up. So I stay on the good side. 2 external battery packs ! now you have a UPS for live stream ! This helps you stay online longer. 73's
All them radios remind me of a bunch of Game Boys Colours!
Great RFI testing of the unit TO!
Thanks!
I've found on two different LDG-tuners (one Z-817 and the other Z-11), that the culprit was the FWD and REV -diodes in the reflection bridge. Perhaps caused by too high RF pulses or something like that. Replaced the originals with 1N5711 schottky RF diodes, and they worked as a charm after the repair. I got this calibration manual from LDG, which must be done after repair. All LDG tuners use an SWR sensor that is close to the original Bruene circuit. The sensor provides a simultaneous forward and reverse power output. A minor change is that since we read the Fwd and Rev power with a microprocessor, it has to be changed to a voltage. The original Bruene circuit provided a current to drive an analog meter. So there is an extra load resistor that you won’t normally see on the Bruene circuit. Unless you are a student of the Bruene circuit, that will not matter to you. Start with the set up. You’ll need a 100 watt radio, a real 100 watt dummy load (not a light bulb) and a voltmeter. For tools, a screwdriver to take the lid off and a tweaker tool for making the adjustments. For QRP tuners you can reduce the RF power to 10 watts. If your tuner has an auto/semi mode, place it in semi. That way the tuner will not tune when you are making adjustments. Check your tuner manual to see if your unit has this and how to change it to Semi. If your tuner has a forward power meter and SWR meter (could be bar graph or analog meter), set the scale to the highest setting. If it only has an indicator LED, skip this part. First, place the tuner in bypass. Again, you may need to check your manual for the directions. For most tuners, it’s a half second press of the tuner button on the tuner. If your antenna tuner has two antenna selection ports, be sure to choose the one with the dummy load on it. If your radio has FM mode choose that. Sometimes RTTY mode can also work. Key the radio and verify two things. One the radio sees a good SWR and two, you have 100 watts coming out of the radio. If one or both of these are off, you cannot continue. You can remove the cover of the tuner now. Be careful not to transmit when you are touching inside with your fingers. Even at 100 watts, it will still give you a nasty RF burn. Find the variable capacitor near the TX SO-239 toward the back of the tuner. Then find the two variable resistors, one for Forward and one for Reverse. If your tuner only has one status LED, you may not have the two variable resistors (which is still fine). Then locate the two test points for Fwd and Rev (some may be F and R). Pre-place the two variable resistor positions in the middle of their travel (if you have these). Now place the DC voltmeter between ground and the Rev test point. Set the meter to 20 volts DC. You could also use an oscilloscope here if you have one. While monitoring the Rev power on the DC meter, adjust the variable capacitor for minimum voltage on the DC meter. The adjustment will completely turn 360 degrees, so find the best spot. If you do not have the variable resistors in your tuner, you are finished. If you have a wattmeter on your tuner, adjust the variable resistor for Fwd to read 100 watts on the tuner’s meter. Then stop transmitting. Lastly, adjust the Rev pot to be in the same physical position as the Fwd pot and that it’s for the calibration. Put the lid back and happy tuning.
Thanks for sharing!
Waiting to see how it does on the RV. That's a big boy for sure.
Me too - Baby is getting new shoes right now
its most likely the bms and a failing lipo
Interesting idea! Just not enough voltage to make it run well enough?
On their web site, their specs say it is LiFeP04, but their own video shows a box that reads Lithium Ion, just like your box.
I didn't open it up to verify, but I am assuming it is LIon. LIon's do have problems, but they are in all the mac laptops and all the cell phones and half the RC toys. Large installed base.
@@temporarilyoffline I'm less concerned with the LiFePO4 v. Lion debate than I am with the fact that there's wrong information (unless there's 2 different batteries in it 🤣)from them. If that's inaccurate, what else is inaccurate?
I hear that ... But I also owned a BMW that had to have its traction control turned off to drive in the snow. This is the modern world for ya.
If you ran it at 30 amps x 240 volts, you'd get less than 20 minutes from the stock battery. It will run for days when you have the very modest load, as you demonstrated. Something you should have learned getting your ham license is that power (watts) out is equal to power input (watts) minus inefficiencies (watts). Solar generators (complete misnomer) are not the panacea that the hype would suggest with multiple high power outlets on the front panel.
Yep. I learned all that and I still find this thing very useful. Imagination is the only limit.
Oh dear ..... down to 5% AND YOU STILL HAVE THAT STUPID SCREEN PROTECTOR ON. .? Thought we would notice didn't you LOL
Great one, esp on the RFI testing. The one fear-factor on this power box is the choice of lion over lifepo. Perhaps not a valid risk issue. You’re putting in your abode so that makes a statement! 73 de K4FMH
Life is about choices. Sometimes we don't get what we want. But we make compromises that get us to the next level. What I'll be doing on my RV channel is a complete (affordable) solar install with batteries to hopefully last a week without sun. The compromise is that we stay north in the heat and south in the cold. We shouldn't have to run the AC much.

Does the RV have a single A/C?
Yep, and I've ran it off of 15a for a while last summer. I'll be adding a second RV, so I'll need more power down the road.
Noice! That is a chonky boy!
Getting my strong on!
Great video TO. A fun test would be with the Tiny SA in front of the Microwave warming up coffee, once on all 4 sides.
Yeah, I can hear how dirty the microwave is when I'm using my bluetooth. I think they might share frequency space.
Nice for Emergencies, Sounds fairly quiet, tnx Man!
Its noisy enough that you'll need to ham around it, but not so noisy that you can't.
The Problem I have seen on every Powerstation I have tested is the RF noise the Inverters create. When Running the noise really hurts HF Radio usage. Even really good power filters are of little help. They will work great to run an RV but are not useful for off-grid radio ops if you depend on quiet RF. Interesting that your tests showed otherwise. My Acid test is to walk the radio band on my IC705 and compare receive with Powerstation on and off. MY Spectrum analyzer test was like yours (a little worse) but real world testing with the radio showed it was very noisy... for reference my current power station is the Bluetti AC200Max. A pretty RF noisy beast BUT it has 12volt 30amp output. If only the power station was a lot quieter RF-wise, it would be perfect, for me.
Yeah, Pure RF needs a battery - then charge them out of area. I've done tests with both 705 and SA, I should probably do them at the same time and see who is better.
That's great, I wonder if you could use portable Bioenno solar panels to charge this while camping.
If you can adapt the connectors, almost any solar panel will work.
You did the harmonic measurement wrong - AGAIN! Set the span to 50 kHz!
You made the same comment AGAIN! I saw it the last time and I agreed with you then.
Nice little radio with a ship load of colour options and great features, very cool.
I'm a fan
Blue for a boy. I'm not gay so I don't want a girls color.
That blue is nice
Have you tried paring the BT Speaker Mic with any other Bluetooth radios (I'm thinking FT5D)? I not, do you plan to?
Not yet, but I'll test it out.
Respectfully, what you state suggests that you do not have a clear grasp of electricity. Your first statements, "double your voltage or runtime" and "more power or longer running" are poor meaningless statements. For example, both the parallel and series configurations have the same power. Not more, not less! Power which is energy/time (units of Watts) is equal to Voltage*Current. The 2 batteries connected together have the same Energy (power*time) independent of a 2S series (26.4V*100AH=2640WattH) or a 2P parallel (13.2V*200AH=2640WH) connection. Your radio likely is not designed to operate on with a large spread of voltages and would likely blow a fuse at best if connected to 26.4V, but it could be fine if designed too(but would need more components and be more expensive). If it were designed so, then the load Current for the 2S (26.4V) would be half that of the 2P (13.2V). This is basic conservation of energy. Don't violate it. Let's say a radio that transmits 100W RF consumes 150W of total DC power when transmitting. Then the 2P combination would draw (150W/13.2V=11.4A) whereas the 2S combination would draw (150W/26.4V=5.7A) so that in both cases the power consumed (i.e. Energy) would be equivalent. Also, the manual is hokey too with regards to wire sizing. One would use a large wire gauge to minimize the voltage drop due to the resistance of the wire itself. Total wire resistance is directly proportional to the wire length. Resistance R= rho * L/A where rho is the resistivity of the material(copper, iron, etc), L is the length and A is the cross sectional area of the wire. This states that if you double the wire length L, then you would need to double the wire area A to maintain the same resistance. I good rule of thumb is to keep the voltage drop along the wire length to less than 10%(i.e. Vdrop <= 0.1*Vbattery). With Vdrop = I*R, one can calculate R for a given battery voltage and Current load. And then given the length of wire one needs, determine a minimum wire size (i.e. A). This is why 24V (or even better 48V) batteries are commonly utilized with DC to AC inverters. One needs 1/2 (or 1/4) the wire size compared to a 12V system (can be a HUGE $$$ saving) . Sorry if I come across too pedantic.
Yeah, you missed the beginner nature of the vid. I said double voltage or runtime, not double power. You're right that power doesn't change. One or the other change. But not both simultaneously. You know that though.
@@temporarilyoffline You did start of the video by saying " Sometime you just need more power and sometimes you need a longer runtime" No not double just more power which is still incorrect. More importantly, runtime should not change unless you can violate energy conservation. Enough of my bashing. You are still the man! Especially on the computing/linux stuff.
@@dreupen thanks!
I want PINK . so I fade the red one? That good coax better than most RG 58. Sticking with ABR made in Texas would be like ABR 400 wich is RG 400 . or ABR RG 8X I think that ABR 240 . if going with M & P coax. they have RG58C/U which is a tad better or Hyper flex 5 or 7. or even the 10 wich is big but very good UHF . But for short length that ABR 58 is not much loss. just look at data sheet and add that loss to your meter reading. you can test the loss buy connecting direct threw a adapter right to meter and dummy load direct on meter. no coax. then you just have adapter loss . which on good adapters is very small . 73's
Yep, just leave it in the sun for a week!
One question, will the Bluetooth - mic work with other brands / models of Bluetooth capable radios? Such as the TIDradio TD-H3 or possibly Anytone AT-D878UV2 Plus? That would be an awesome upgrade to other radios, if the Bluetooth protocols are compatible. If you are able to check, thanks N8EFJ.
It probably will, I'm going to test it out.
I use two 20 meter ham sticks with the MFJ-347. The mounting bracket ran $34.95 plus tax. The main issue with the 347 is the bolts, washers, and nuts are not stainless steel and will rush in a short time span if exposed to wx elements. I mount the 347 about 10 inches from the top of a 12 foot painters pole. It works great for quick portable deployments with good reports. When I purchased the ham sticks, the dealer recommended that I tune one stick at a time. Basically, the two stingers are not exactly the identical length. I took a hack saw and cut a small mark at the point the stinger meets the portion holding the stinger. I have some videos on my RUclips Channel if you are interested in checking them out. If you do, please provide feedback so that I can improve the use of the ham sticks being horizontally polarized. 73, KB5AEB

Sweet, have fun!
For its price point I'd go with a Japanese brand radio. As for the RG58, the length is pretty negligible to the power out test.
Which Japanese radio would you get at this price?
My main problem with Japanese radios is that the batteries are tiny, expensive, and tedious to charge. Sure, hams have been dealing with that for decades, but who says it has to be this way forever? Besides brand recognition, what's stopping Yaesu from coming out with the VX-10 with two large USB-C rechargeable batteries right in the box?
@@consumptionof I know the answer and I don't like it.

There is no difference, Vero put the Radioddity label on for RO.

With good reason - Vero makes the GMRS pro radio for BTECH, and the is the ham version
Thanks Steve. We appreciate your info videos. I’m hoping you or someone will bring a tutorial of loading not only FT8 into the X6200 but also fldigi.
